Spring-sensing anti-fallback safety device for spring roller shutters. The route to compliance for both manual and electric shutters with sprung barrels. With the advent of the consruction products directive and requirement for a secondary safety device, the unique cambrake offers for the first time both an anti-fallback safeguard and also a reliable method for the continuous monitoring of spring performance. It is ideal for either manually or electrically operated shutters.

Should the counterbalance spring lose tension significantly (via breakage or other loss), the cambrake will come into action and prevent use of the shutter until this has been rectified.

With electrically operated doors, it can be set up to activate a position switch to either cut the power to the motor , or switch it to momentary mode, thus signalling the need for a service.

By carefully releasing the cambrake in short steps (demonstrated in video) it is possible to ensure the security of the opening is maintained by allowing the door to be closed in a controlled descent.
